Jaipur: In a tragic incident, a 9-year-old student of Neerja Modi School in Jaipur died after jumping from the fourth floor of the school building on Saturday afternoon. The incident occurred around 1:30 PM at the school located on Shipra Path in Mansarovar.

The deceased has been identified as Amayra, daughter of Vijay Kumar, a resident of Dwarka Apartment in Mansarovar. She was a Class 4 student at the prestigious private school.

CCTV footage shows child climbing railing

According to CCTV footage lasting about ten seconds, the girl was seen climbing onto the railing of the fourth floor and sitting there for a few moments before jumping. She reportedly fell into the bushes below and hit her head against a wall.

Eyewitnesses said that school staff rushed to her aid immediately after the incident, and she was taken to Metro Mass Hospital, where doctors declared her dead on arrival.

A doctor from Metro Mass Hospital said that when the child was brought in, her breathing had almost stopped.
