A 24-year-old woman, who is married to an Indian Air Force officer, has alleged that she was drugged, sexually assaulted, blackmailed with obscene videos, extorted of money and pressured to convert her religion, prompting police to arrest two persons and launch a search for a third accused.

Police said the case came to light after the woman filed a complaint at Sonegaon Police Station on June 13. The survivor reportedly informed her husband about the alleged incidents after he returned home from duty.

Video emerges as key evidence

A video submitted by the complainant has become a crucial part of the investigation. In the footage, the woman can reportedly be heard pleading to be released while a man is seen holding her and performing religious rituals.

Police have confirmed receiving the video and said it is being examined as part of the investigation. Authorities are cross-verifying the contents and circumstances surrounding the recording.

Serious allegations against accused

According to the complaint, the prime accused, identified as Ayyaz Taj Madare (26), allegedly contacted the woman in February on the pretext of purchasing a plot of land.

The woman alleged that she was called to a hotel, where she was served a drink allegedly laced with an intoxicating substance. She claimed she was sexually assaulted while unconscious and that videos and photographs were secretly recorded.

Police said the complainant has further alleged that the recordings were later used to blackmail her, resulting in repeated sexual exploitation and the extortion of approximately ₹3.09 lakh.

She also alleged that she was pressured to undergo religious rituals and was informed that her conversion had been completed.

Two arrested, hunt on for third accused

Police have arrested Ayyaz Madare and Ameen Sheikh (30) in connection with the case. Efforts are underway to trace a third accused, identified as Hazrat Maulana, a resident of Madhya Pradesh.

A case has been registered under charges including rape, extortion, attempted religious conversion and provisions of the Maharashtra Prevention and Eradication of Human Sacrifice and Other Inhuman, Evil and Aghori Practices and Black Magic Act.

The arrested accused have been remanded to police custody for five days while the investigation continues.
