Akhilesh Yadav, leader of the Samajwadi Party, celebrated the triumph of the INDIA bloc in Uttar Pradesh, hailing it as a groundbreaking win for the state’s marginalized communities including the backward classes, Dalits, and minorities. He attributed this victory to the effective implementation of the PDA (Pichada, Dalit, and Alpasankhyak) strategy and the united efforts of the Opposition coalition.
Yadav, a former Chief Minister, emphasized that the electorate’s decision showcased the unwavering strength of collective will, stating, “The victory of the INDIA bloc is a testament to the trust placed by the Dalit-Bahujan community, along with other marginalized groups, in safeguarding the principles of equality, dignity, and reservation enshrined in our Constitution.”

The INDIA bloc secured a remarkable 43 out of 80 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh, with the Samajwadi Party alone winning 37 seats and the Congress claiming 6. This outcome dealt a significant blow to the ruling BJP-led NDA, which only managed to secure 33 seats, along with two seats won by Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) and one by Apna Dal (Sonelal).
Yadav highlighted the unity among diverse sections of society, underscoring, “This victory reflects the strong alliance of backward, Dalit, minority, tribal communities, women, and marginalized individuals within the upper castes, united under the PDA framework.”
He credited the victory to the relentless efforts of those dedicated to upholding the Constitution and promoting inclusive politics.
The election also witnessed notable individual victories and defeats. While Prime Minister Narendra Modi retained his Varanasi seat, other prominent figures such as BJP’s Rajveer Singh faced defeat in Etah. However, Union Ministers Rajnath Singh, Anupriya Patel, and Pankaj Chaudhary secured victories in their respective constituencies.
The Congress celebrated significant wins with Rahul Gandhi emerging victorious in Raebareli and Kishori Lal Sharma defeating BJP’s Smriti Irani in Amethi. Akhilesh Yadav himself won from Kannauj, while his wife Dimple Yadav secured victory in Mainpuri.
