Over 451,000 pilgrims have completed the Amarnath Yatra in the past 29 days, surpassing last year’s record. According to officials from the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB), which oversees the annual pilgrimage, this year’s figures have exceeded last year’s total of 445,000 visitors. The Yatra, which began on June 29, has seen a remarkable turnout, with over 451,000 pilgrims visiting the holy cave.
On Saturday, approximately 8,000 pilgrims visited the cave shrine. On Sunday, 1,677 more pilgrims departed from Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas in Jammu heading to the Valley. This marks the lowest number of pilgrims traveling to the Valley since the Yatra commenced. Among them, 408 pilgrims left at 3:35 a.m. in an escorted convoy of 24 vehicles heading to the Baltal base camp in north Kashmir. Meanwhile, a second convoy carrying 1,269 pilgrims departed in 43 vehicles for the Nunwan (Pahalgam) base camp in south Kashmir.
