Shimla: An American citizen was arrested by Shimla Police after videos showing him allegedly creating a public nuisance and behaving indecently in a public place went viral on social media.
The accused, identified as Joshua Christian, was taken into custody on Friday after multiple clips surfaced online showing him shouting at people, making inappropriate gestures and allegedly behaving aggressively at the popular Ridge Maidan in Shimla.
The incident sparked widespread criticism online and prompted swift action by the police.

According to police officials, the videos showed the foreign tourist displaying unruly behaviour in one of Shimla’s busiest public spaces.
In one of the clips, Christian is seen shouting and acting rudely towards people present at the location. Another purported video linked to the incident shows him knocking a cap off a man’s head while yelling at him.

Taking cognisance of the viral footage, Shimla Police identified the accused and arrested him under Section 114 of the Himachal Pradesh Police Act for alleged indecent behaviour and creating a public nuisance.
