A New York-based travel vlogger has won attention online after sharing her experience of exploring Delhi’s famous Chandni Chowk, praising both the food and the cleanliness of some of its most iconic eateries.

Chloe Jade documented her culinary journey through the historic market in a video posted on Instagram, where she sampled several traditional dishes while addressing common perceptions about street food hygiene in India.

Vlogger explores famous food destinations

Beginning her tour at the renowned Paranthe Wali Gali, Chloe tried the area’s popular lemon-potato paratha and khoya-rabdi paratha.

While acknowledging that some people might question hygiene standards, she said the establishment serving the food appeared “super clean” despite the crowded surroundings.

She described the parathas and accompanying chutneys as one of the highlights of her visit.

Daulat Ki Chaat becomes favourite dish

The content creator also sampled Daulat Ki Chaat, one of Old Delhi’s most celebrated seasonal delicacies.

Initially unsure about the dessert, Chloe said she was pleasantly surprised by its flavour and texture.

Made primarily from milk and known for its light, frothy consistency, the dish impressed her with its caramelised taste and unique preparation.

She later tried dahi bhalla, which she said was her least favourite item of the day, although she clarified that she did not dislike it entirely.

Social media reacts

The video quickly attracted reactions from viewers, many of whom shared their own experiences of eating street food in India.

Several users argued that travellers often mistake digestive discomfort caused by unfamiliar spices for food poisoning, while others shared stories of both positive and negative experiences.

Despite the debate, many commenters agreed that Chandni Chowk remains one of India’s most iconic food destinations, attracting visitors from around the world with its rich culinary heritage and centuries-old eateries.

The viral video has once again highlighted the enduring popularity of Delhi’s street food culture and its growing appeal among international travellers.
