Amul has increased the retail prices of its ghee and butter products across the country, with the revised rates taking immediate effect. According to a report by NDTV, the new prices have been updated on retail maximum retail price (MRP) labels and online platforms.
The latest revision affects four popular product variants, including the 1-kg ghee carton, 500-g pure ghee pouch, 100-g butter pack and 500-g butter pack. The price increases range from Rs 3 to Rs 50, depending on the product and pack size.
Revised prices of Amul ghee and butter
The price of Amul Ghee in the 1-kg carton has increased from Rs 630 to Rs 680, marking a hike of Rs 50.
Amul Pure Ghee in the 500-g pouch will now cost Rs 345, compared to its earlier price of Rs 325. This represents an increase of Rs 20.
The revised prices also affect Amul Butter products. The 100-g pack, which was previously priced at Rs 63, will now cost Rs 66. The 500-g pack has become costlier by Rs 15, with its price rising from Rs 310 to Rs 325.
The revised rates are as follows:

| Amul Pure Ghee (500-g pouch) | Rs 325 | Rs 345 | Rs 20 |
| Amul Butter (100-g pack) | Rs 63 | Rs 66 | Rs 3 |

Price revision adds to household grocery expenses
Ghee and butter are commonly used in Indian households for everyday cooking, food preparation and traditional recipes. The price revision is therefore likely to be noticed by regular consumers, particularly families that purchase these products frequently.
The impact will vary depending on consumption patterns and pack sizes. The Rs 50 increase in the 1-kg ghee carton is the highest among the four listed revisions, while the 100-g butter pack has seen the smallest increase of Rs 3.
Consumers purchasing larger quantities may notice a greater difference in their monthly grocery spending. The revised prices also mean that customers may need to account for the higher rates when comparing products and planning household purchases.
Amul had revised milk prices earlier this year
The latest increase follows another price revision by Amul earlier in May 2026, when the dairy co-operative increased milk pouch prices across India by Rs 2 per litre.
The revision covered several popular milk categories, including Amul Gold, Amul Taaza, Amul Shakti and Cow Milk.
With the latest changes affecting ghee and butter, consumers are facing higher retail prices for some of the dairy co-operative’s widely purchased products.
Revised rates take immediate effect
According to the NDTV report, the new prices have come into effect immediately and are being updated across retail outlets and online platforms. Consumers may therefore encounter the revised MRPs when purchasing the affected products.
The latest revision covers the four specified ghee and butter variants. Customers are advised to check the MRP displayed on the packaging or the price listed by online retailers before making a purchase.
