A 35-year-old anganwadi teacher reportedly died after suffering a sunstroke while distributing nutritional supplements in Telangana’s Jayashankar Bhupalpally district.

The deceased has been identified as Ch Latha, a resident of Budharam village in Ghanpur mandal. She was working as an anganwadi teacher in the BC colony of the village.

According to local reports, Latha had gone out on Saturday to distribute nutritional supplements to pregnant women and lactating mothers as part of her official duties.

Family members said she fell ill while returning home amid severe heat conditions prevailing in the region. After reaching home, she reportedly became unconscious.

Her relatives immediately shifted her to a nearby hospital for treatment. Due to the seriousness of her condition, doctors later referred her to a private hospital in Hanamkonda for advanced medical care.

However, Latha died while undergoing treatment on Sunday morning.

The incident has drawn attention to the harsh working conditions faced by frontline health and welfare workers during extreme summer temperatures.

Police officials stated that no formal complaint had been received in connection with the incident. Karunakar Rao said no case has been registered so far.

The region has been witnessing intense heatwave conditions in recent days, with authorities advising people to avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight during peak afternoon hours
