The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader is expected to be released from jail tomorrow, pending the arrival of the bail order at the jail.

During the court proceedings, Kejriwal’s lawyer argued that the ED’s case relied heavily on statements from individuals who had turned approver. “These statements come from those who have admitted guilt. They are not without blemish; many appear to have been promised bail or pardons in exchange for their cooperation,” Kejriwal’s lawyer stated earlier today. Following these arguments, the court reserved its decision and later granted bail around 8 pm.

Kejriwal’s defense emphasized the lack of concrete evidence, stating, “The circumstances must be intrinsically linked to prove guilt. These statements from compromised individuals undermine the prosecution’s case. There is no evidence that Rs 100 crore came from the so-called ‘South Group.’ These are merely statements without any supporting evidence.” The ‘South Group,’ according to the ED, is a lobby from Telangana accused of conspiring to secure liquor licenses in Delhi.
