Amid Delhi’s escalating water crisis, Water Minister Atishi took action on Monday by appealing to Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora to enhance security measures along the city’s crucial water pipelines.
In her letter, Atishi stressed the urgency of deploying police personnel to patrol and safeguard major pipelines across Delhi for the next 15 days. She underscored the critical importance of protecting these lifelines from any potential sabotage or interference, which could exacerbate the severe water shortage already burdening the capital.
Simultaneously, AAP MLAs sought to engage Union Jal Shakti Minister CR Patil on the issue. AAP MLA Rakhi Birla expressed disappointment over their inability to meet the Minister despite prior attempts, emphasizing the pressing need for attention to Delhi’s water scarcity problem.

In response, BJP MP Kamaljeet Sehrawat criticized the AAP government for mishandling the crisis, highlighting complaints from Dwarka residents about expensive private tankers and inadequate government-supplied water. She called upon Atishi to take responsibility and address the shortcomings within her department, rather than blaming other states for the shortages.
