Ayurvedic medicine to soon heal dengue: Ministry of AYUSH

New Delhi: To battle the tropical disease called “Dengue”, the clinical trials are being conducted in the field of Ayurvedic medicine. The Union Minister of State for AYUSH, Shripad Naik, here on Sunday, November 4, said that the process is underway and would soon be launched.

Secretary of AYUSH ministry, Rajesh Kotecha said that the experiments were conducted and is expected to be ready at the earliest.

Shripad Naik emphasized on ancient books “Charak Samhita” and “Sushrut Samhita”, which he believes are the treasure of medicinal knowledge.

He said that the ministry has aimed at expanding the Ayurveda and AYUSH business. The ministry has aimed to expand the current size of Ayurveda and AYUSH business from $3 billion to $10 billion by 2022.

He pointed out at linking the field of Ayurveda to Digital India, Skill India and Startup India platforms, to widen its scope of business.

Minister of State for Culture, Mahesh Sharma said that Ayurveda could serve as a vehicle to take Ayushman Bharat scheme to every village.
