A leisure outing turned into heartbreak after a young intern employed with Cognizant drowned off a Chennai beach, while another colleague remains missing.
The deceased has been identified as Mayuri Harishchandra Chaudhary, a resident of Varthi village in Mohadi taluka of Bhandara district, Maharashtra. She was in Chennai as part of her internship programme.
Sudden tragedy during beach visit
According to preliminary reports, Mayuri and a group of colleagues had visited the beach when strong currents reportedly pulled two of them into deeper waters. Despite immediate attempts by bystanders and local authorities to rescue them, Mayuri could not be saved.
