Bengaluru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has instructed to hand over the case of the death of Prabhudda, a second-year BBA student, which occurred in the jurisdiction of Subramanyanagar Police Station under Bengaluru South DCP’s limits on May 15, to the CID for investigation.

K.R. Soumya, a social activist and the mother of the deceased, along with a delegation of social workers, met the Chief Minister and requested him to transfer the investigation of her daughter’s death case.

The Chief Minister, acknowledging the request, has directed to transfer the investigation of the case to the CID.

Prabuddha, 19, was found murdered on May 15 in her house in south Bengaluru. Police had arrested a 14-year-old boy, who was her younger brother’s friend, nine days after the incident.

It was revealed that the victim had caught the juvenile accused while stealing Rs 2,000 from her purse. The accused had slit her throat and tried to destroy the evidence. 

The mother of the victim had alleged that the local police protecting the accused and its family claiming that they were influential.
