A Bengaluru-based doctor, Dr. Priyadarshini, has been accused of physically assaulting her elderly in-laws and harassing them alongside her children for the past 10 years. A viral video showing Dr. Priyadarshini allegedly attacking her in-laws at their residence has sparked widespread outrage on social media.

Dr. Priyadarshini, an emergency medical officer at the Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute (BMCRI), had previously filed for divorce but reportedly went to her in-laws’ home recently and physically assaulted them. The incident has led to a police case being filed against her.

In response to the video, the Karnataka Medical Education Department issued a show-cause notice to Dr. Priyadarshini, asking her to provide a written explanation regarding the allegations. The department expressed embarrassment over her behavior and warned that further disciplinary action could be taken if she fails to respond.

The Principal Secretary of the Medical Education Department, Mohammad Mohsin, had earlier highlighted concerns regarding the abandonment of elderly parents in hospitals after asset transfers, calling for legal action in such cases.
