Narayan Hari Bhole Baba issued his first response regarding the Hathras stampede on Wednesday, attributing the tragedy to “the actions of anti-social elements and troublemakers.” In a statement, he expressed heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased and prayed for the swift recovery of the injured.
Furthermore, he authorized Dr. AP Singh, a Senior Advocate at the Supreme Court, to pursue legal action concerning the stampede that occurred after the conclusion of the Samagam/Satsang event on July 2, 2024, in Hathras, UP.
Currently residing at his lavish ashram in Mainpuri with followers, Bhole Baba has reportedly declined meetings with authorities seeking contact.
A senior official reported that the victims of the Hathras stampede, whose bodies underwent post-mortem examination at a hospital in Agra, succumbed to injuries such as chest trauma resulting in blood accumulation in the thoracic cavity, asphyxia, and rib injuries.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, following his visit to the site and a ‘prayer meet’ organized by Bhole Baba, announced a judicial inquiry into the incident on July 3. The stampede tragically claimed the lives of 121 people, including six individuals from neighboring states—four from Haryana, and one each from Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.
