Bihar’s Prohibition Minister, Ratnesh Sada, sustained minor injuries on New Year’s Day after being struck by a speeding tempo during his morning walk in his native village, Balia Simar, Mahishi block, Saharsa district. The incident also injured his security guard, who accompanied him at the time.
The tempo hit them from behind, and both were promptly rushed to the district government hospital. Following a CT scan and X-rays, which showed no abnormalities, they were discharged after receiving first aid. District Civil Surgeon Katyani Mishra confirmed the injuries were minor.
Sada, who had visited his village to celebrate the New Year, reassured reporters, saying, “I suffered minor injuries on my hands and legs, and my security guard was also hurt. We are perfectly alright now.”
The minister’s decision to leave the hospital came after medical clearance and his insistence to return home.
