New Delhi: Several schools across Delhi received bomb threat messages on Monday, triggering evacuations and large-scale security operations by police and emergency response teams.

Authorities said students and staff were safely evacuated as a precaution, while bomb disposal squads, dog squads, fire personnel and local police launched comprehensive searches of the affected campuses.

Security agencies launch extensive searches

According to the Delhi Police, no suspicious objects had been found at any of the schools at the time of reporting.

Search operations were carried out across classrooms, administrative blocks, playgrounds and other parts of the school premises in accordance with standard security protocols.

Officials said every bomb threat is treated as genuine until proven otherwise to ensure the safety of students, staff and visitors.

Police have appealed to parents and the public not to panic and to rely only on verified information from official sources.

Part of a series of hoax threats

The latest scare follows a string of similar bomb threat incidents reported in Delhi over the past two years.

Earlier this year, schools including Army Public School, Dhaula Kuan, and Air Force Bal Bharti School, Lodhi Road, received bomb threat emails that were later declared hoaxes after exhaustive searches yielded no suspicious findings.

Three schools in Dwarka and Paschim Enclave also received similar threat emails this year, resulting in evacuations before authorities confirmed they were false alarms.

Investigation underway

Delhi has witnessed repeated hoax bomb threats targeting schools, colleges, hospitals, courts and government buildings in recent years.

One of the biggest such incidents occurred in May 2024, when more than 200 schools across Delhi-NCR received bomb threat emails, causing widespread panic before the threats were declared false.

Police said cyber teams are investigating the origin of the latest threat messages, while security checks continue at the affected schools.

Authorities added that normal activities will resume only after all premises are thoroughly sanitised and declared safe.
