A 19-year-old first-year BSc Agriculture student, G Rashmitha, was found hanging in her hostel room at Warangal Agriculture College in Arepally, Enumamula mandal, on Wednesday.
Originally from Nalgonda town, Rashmitha was discovered unresponsive after classmates attempted to contact her post-breakfast. When faculty and security personnel forced open her door, they found her hanging from the ceiling fan. She was rushed to a hospital, where doctors confirmed her death.
Enumamula Inspector A. Raghavendra stated that Rashmitha was unhappy with her course. “She had recently visited home, expressing her reluctance to continue. Though her parents persuaded her to return, she took the extreme step soon after.”
A case has been filed under Section 194 of the BNSS, and further investigations are underway.
