Kerala: After Rehana Fathima, the activist of ‘Kiss of Love’ fame stoked yet another controversy with Sabarimala temple issue, the BSNL, on Monday transferred her to another branch and said that more action will follow with the completion of an internal probe.
Ernakulam based Fathima was posted as a telephone mechanic in Kochi boat jetty branch of the BSNL. She has been transferred to Ravipuram branch, where she would have zero relations with the public.
Fathima hit headlines after she tried to gain entry into Sabarimala temple recently following Apex Court verdict that the temple should be open to women of all ages. Close on the heels of this, she was ousted from Muslim community by the Kerala Muslim Jama’ath Council on Saturday for “hurting the sentiments of lakhs of Hindu devotees.”
The police had registered a case against Rehana on Sunday over her social media post, which allegedly hurt religious sentiments.
Rehana had stirred up a controversy in March when she posted topless photos of herself with watermelons after a Kozhikode-based professor had compared women’s breasts to watermelons.
