In an unusual incident, a buffalo went on a rampage at a wedding ceremony in Salabatpura, leading to injuries for two young sisters. The animal crashed into the venue after it was not properly controlled by its handler, Naeem Kureshi, who had brought it for sale.
According to the complaint filed by Abdul Sakir Gafar Shaikh, who attended his nephew Taukir Shaikh’s wedding in Razanagar on Saturday afternoon, the buffalo entered the venue around 2 pm, causing panic among the guests. As the guests scattered in fear of the animal, two sisters, aged 11 and 9, were injured and later hospitalized.
Upon investigation, it was revealed that Kureshi had brought the buffalo in a tempo from Rander to sell it for a commission. However, when unloading the animal, he lost control of it, and the buffalo became frightened and charged towards the crowd. Police explained that Kureshi’s inability to properly handle the buffalo led to the chaos.
A police officer from Salabatpura confirmed that both Kureshi and the driver of the tempo have been booked for negligence, which endangered public safety. The authorities have issued notices to both individuals, holding them responsible for the incident.
