Assistant Commissioner of Police Nimish Dasharath Patil responded to the incident by saying, “An I-20 car is seen in reverse gear on an elevated road in a video that went viral on social media today. There is a police car pursuing the driver. Further investigation into the incident revealed that it was operating on elevated last night between 9.30 and 10:00 pm.”

“The police control room received information that an I-20 car was coming from Rajnagar, driving recklessly. In which there was a complaint of drink-driving. The PC started driving the car in reverse gear when he tried to stop it based on this complaint. The police officer said in the video statement that was posted on X that “more information is being sought regarding this incident, and necessary action will be taken after the investigation.”
