This year’s Char Dham Yatra will strictly prohibit YouTubers and social media influencers from shooting videos within temple premises. The Kedarnath-Badrinath Panda Samaj has announced that anyone found making reels or content will be barred from darshan and sent back immediately. The decision has been formally communicated to authorities, and discussions with the state government have already taken place.
The sacred pilgrimage will commence on April 30, coinciding with Akshaya Tritiya, marked by the opening of the Gangotri and Yamunotri temple doors. Kedarnath will welcome devotees on May 2, and Badrinath will open on May 4, signaling the full-scale start of the yatra.
Improved facilities for devotees
To handle weather-related disruptions smoothly, 10 special holding zones are being prepared across key locations such as Haridwar, Rishikesh, Rudraprayag, Sonprayag, Barkot, and others. These will be equipped with vital facilities like drinking water, clean toilets, bedding, medical aid, and emergency food for pilgrims stuck due to adverse conditions. The route has been segmented into 10-km sectors, each guarded by six police personnel on bikes to assist yatris in emergencies.
Record-breaking registrations
In just under a week, the yatra has already seen over 9 lakh registrations, with Kedarnath leading at 2.75 lakh, followed by Badrinath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri.
Offline registration options will soon be available at Haridwar and Rishikesh along with a token system at all four dhams to regulate darshan.
