A private medical facility in Mogappair, Chennai, is under fire for allegedly barring a patient’s family from meeting her post-surgery and later relocating her to a government hospital without prior consent.

As per reports, Panruti resident Nagarajan admitted his wife, Jayapushpa, to the private hospital for a surgical procedure. While the operation was successfully completed ten days ago, hospital authorities allegedly refused to let her relatives visit her, leaving them in distress.

The family claims the hospital later informed them that Jayapushpa had developed neurological complications and was unconscious. Without consulting them, she was abruptly transferred to a government-run medical institution for additional care.

Shocked by the sudden move after already incurring hefty medical expenses at the private facility, her relatives are questioning the hospital’s motives. They have now lodged a formal complaint against the administration, demanding accountability and an explanation.

The incident has raised serious concerns regarding patient rights, medical transparency, and ethical healthcare practices. Authorities are expected to investigate the matter further.
