A viral video showing college students performing a dangerous stunt known as “footboarding” on a speeding suburban train in Chennai has raised serious safety concerns. The video, which was uploaded on social media, shows five boys from two different Chennai colleges standing on top of a moving train and performing risky stunts, with two of them standing atop the train and one wearing a college ID card.

The stunt is reportedly linked to a dangerous game called “Route Thala” or “Head of the Route,” in which participants often flaunt weapons or perform risky stunts on moving trains to assert dominance. This reckless behavior, which has previously been caught on camera, continues to endanger lives despite being illegal.

While some of the boys in the video wore masks to conceal their identities, one member failed to do so, which has provided authorities with a lead in their ongoing investigation. Police are currently searching for the individuals involved.

This incident highlights the urgent need for awareness and stricter measures to curb such dangerous behavior, which puts both participants and innocent bystanders at risk.
