Faridabad: A Class 12 student from Rajasthan died while undergoing treatment after his family alleged that he was kidnapped, confined and physically assaulted for several days in connection with a relationship dispute involving a minor girl. Police have registered a murder case along with kidnapping and other relevant charges and have launched an investigation into the incident.
The deceased has been identified as Monu, a resident of Saidpur village in Rajasthan’s Bhiwadi area.
Family remembers student as athlete and achiever
According to family members, Monu had recently appeared for his Class 12 examinations and had secured around 70 per cent marks.
Relatives described him as a talented badminton player who had represented his school at the state level and won several medals at district-level competitions.
Family members said he had been in a relationship with a minor girl from Tigaon in Faridabad.
According to relatives, the two had met when the girl used to visit her maternal relatives in Saidpur village and later developed a relationship.
Family alleges kidnapping and confinement
According to Monu’s uncle Narendra, the student left his house on May 17 and informed family members that he was going to Tigaon police station in connection with an earlier investigation.
However, the family alleged that members of the girl’s family abducted him and kept him confined for nearly three days.
Relatives claimed he was repeatedly assaulted and subjected to torture during that period.
On May 20, the family reportedly received information from police stating that Monu had been found in an injured condition outside the residence of the girl’s father, identified as Kulbhushan.
He was subsequently shifted to a private hospital for treatment.
Family members alleged that he had sustained severe injuries due to continuous physical assault while in captivity.
He later succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.
Earlier case linked to relationship dispute
Police officials stated that an earlier case had already been registered against Monu following allegations that he had eloped with the minor girl in April.
According to police spokesperson Yashpal Singh, the complaint had been filed by Kulbhushan at Tigaon police station.
Police said the girl was later traced while Monu had reportedly remained absconding.
Officials further stated that Kulbhushan later informed police that Monu was present at his residence.
When officers arrived at the location, they allegedly found him in critical condition and shifted him for medical treatment.
Murder case registered, investigation continues
Following Monu’s death, police registered a murder case along with kidnapping and other relevant charges based on the complaint submitted by family members.
Authorities stated that two accused individuals have been rounded up in connection with the case.
Police said further investigation is under way and officials are examining all aspects surrounding the allegations and circumstances leading to the student’s death.
Additional legal action is expected based on the outcome of the ongoing investigation.
