A tragic incident unfolded in Hyderabad’s LB Nagar area where a 14-year-old boy allegedly died by suicide, feared to be overwhelmed by exam-related anxiety.

The deceased, C Sai Raju, was a Class 9 student at a local school and lived with his parents in Sai Sapthagiri Colony. On Monday evening, he went into his bedroom, telling his family he needed to study. Moments later, he locked the door from the inside.

After some time passed without any response, his mother grew concerned and tried to check on him. When he didn’t reply, she raised an alarm. Neighbors rushed in and forced open the door, only to discover the boy had hanged himself from the ceiling fan.

According to the police, Sai’s mother stated that her son had been worried about how he performed in his final exams and appeared tense over the possibility of not passing. His fear and distress may have driven him to the devastating decision.

The LB Nagar police have filed a case and begun formal inquiries into the matter. Authorities are also urging parents and educators to be more vigilant about the mental health of children, especially during exam periods.

This heartbreaking loss underscores the rising pressure on students and the urgent need for emotional support systems at home and in schools.
