A tragic incident unfolded during the annual sports meet of Eklavya Model Residential School, where a Class XI student collapsed while participating in a relay race and later died, leaving the school and local community in deep shock.

Student collapses during 400-metre relay

The deceased student has been identified as Jaydeep Sagar Beka, a resident of Bhawanipur block in Sundargarh district. According to reports, Jaydeep was taking part in the first round of the 400-metre relay race when he suddenly collapsed on the track.

Teachers and staff present at the event immediately rushed to his aid and arranged for urgent medical assistance.
