Security agencies were placed on alert after two country-made bombs were recovered from a deserted plot near the Sree Narayana Math at Kutteri on Tuesday, police officials confirmed.
The discovery was made following specific intelligence inputs received by the local police, prompting immediate action to prevent any potential threat to public safety.
Bomb squad rushes to the spot
Soon after the information was received, a bomb disposal squad rushed to the location. The explosives were carefully examined and successfully defused without any damage or injuries, police said.
Officials stated that the timely response of the bomb squad helped avert a possible mishap, especially given the proximity of the site to religious and residential areas.
Area placed under heightened surveillance
In view of the recovery, police have stepped up security and surveillance in and around Kutteri. Sources said the district is considered politically sensitive, and authorities are not ruling out the possibility of the explosives being linked to an attempt to disturb law and order.
