Indore: Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) has come under scrutiny after a late-night incident involving final-year students at the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) Ramanujam B Hostel triggered widespread criticism and prompted university authorities to initiate disciplinary action.

University administration initiates action
Following the circulation of the videos, university authorities stated that steps had been initiated to identify those involved.
IET Department Head Dr Pratosh Bansal said evidence related to the incident was being collected and individuals connected to the matter were being identified.
He stated that such behaviour would not be accepted and indicated that decisions regarding disciplinary action would be taken following the review process.
Officials noted that university authorities were examining available material and assessing the extent of involvement of students connected to the incident.
The administration also indicated that institutional rules would be followed while taking further action.
Vice-Chancellor warns of strict action
University Vice-Chancellor Professor Rakesh Singhai also commented on the matter and stated that those found responsible would face strict action under university regulations.
