Five caregivers at a private daycare centre in Bengaluru have been booked after disturbing videos allegedly showing toddlers being physically abused surfaced on social media, prompting a police investigation and widespread public outrage.
The videos, which quickly went viral, purportedly show caregivers mistreating young children under their supervision. Following the circulation of the footage, police registered a case and launched an investigation into the alleged abuse.
Authorities are examining the authenticity of the videos and recording statements from those connected to the daycare as part of the ongoing probe.
Complaint filed with child rights panel
Apart from the police action, a formal complaint has also been submitted to the Karnataka State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (KSCPCR), seeking immediate intervention and action against those responsible.
The commission is expected to examine the allegations and monitor the progress of the investigation to ensure the safety and welfare of the children involved.

Police are working to determine when the incidents took place and whether there were previous complaints against the daycare. Investigators are also verifying if the alleged abuse was an isolated incident or part of a pattern of misconduct.
