Delhi: A case has been filed against a Delhi lawyer after a 21-year-old woman alleged that he raped her in his chamber at Tis Hazari Court under the guise of offering her employment. The complaint was lodged by the woman’s aunt at Sabji Mandi Police Station on July 30.

According to the complaint, the woman had sought a job and was given the lawyer’s contact by her aunt. After reaching out to the lawyer, she was invited to his office to present her educational documents. The lawyer promised to help her find a job within 8-10 days.

After the initial meeting, the woman and the lawyer continued their communication via text messages. The lawyer allegedly made inappropriate remarks, suggesting that “everyone needs good friends in life.” On July 27, the woman visited the lawyer’s chamber again, where he reportedly assaulted her. The woman claimed that the lawyer forcibly raped her and inserted his finger into her private area.

The lawyer allegedly threatened her with severe consequences if she reported the assault, giving her Rs 1,500 before asking her to leave. The woman informed her aunt upon returning home, leading to the police complaint. An investigation is currently underway.
