Delhi riots: Man seen opening fire at unarmed cop has not yet been arrested

New Delhi: The man in maroon T-shirt, seen opening fire at a police personnel during the Delhi riots has reportedly not yet been arrested.

Identified as 33-year-old Shahrukh from Shahdara, the video and photos of this man went viral. 

Though initial reports claimed that he has been arrested and is in police custody, later on, the police sources said that they are still on a look out for him.  

He was seen confronting an unarmed Delhi Police officer, forcing him to back off.

At least 39 people have lost their lives and more than 200 hundred injured ever since clashes broke out between pro and anti-Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) protesters that took place at various places in North-East District of Delhi.

Meanwhile, normalcy appears to be returning in the riot-t pockets of Delhi as no fresh incidents of violnce have been reported over the last few hours.

Police have issued two mobile numbers – 8750871221 and 8750871227 – for witnesses to contact and share information regarding riots in Delhi. Delhi Police have promised to keep the identity of witnesses secret.
