The epicenter was located in Dhading, with the seismic event occurring at 7:39 am local time. The impact was felt in the regions of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, fortunately causing no casualties.
The earthquake struck at the intersection of the Tibetan and Indian tectonic plates. Nepal faced a devastating earthquake in 2015, measuring 7.8 on the Richter scale, which resulted in the tragic loss of over 9,000 lives. It’s noteworthy that Nepal ranks as the 11th most earthquake-prone country globally.
