New Delhi:Nishikant Dubey’s tweet, drawing parallels between the recent security breach on December 13 and past incidents, has elicited a strong response from opposition leaders.
Congress MP Karti Chidambaram criticized the move, stating that it’s inappropriate to delve into precedents. He highlighted the violation of numerous precedents in Parliament today and emphasized the need for accountability. Chidambaram, who was present in the House during the breach, underlined the severity of the incident, cautioning against downplaying its significance. He insisted that the government should provide a statement on the matter.
Responding to Nishikant Dubey’s comments, Shiromani Akali Dal MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal questioned his credibility and influence, expressing concern about the security of the capital and the nation. She expressed gratitude that none of the accused belonged to the minority community, suggesting that the narrative might have been different if that were the case. Badal also pointed out that a BJP MP had sanctioned the passes, highlighting a potential different outcome if it were an opposition MP involved in the process.
