On Sunday, a toddler in Delhi’s Keshopur neighborhood slipped down a borewell, according to an official. The toddler went into a 40–50 foot deep borewell inside the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) facility in the Keshopur Mandi region, according to the Delhi Fire Service (DFS).
At the time of reporting this report, teams from the Delhi Fire Service (DFS), Delhi Police, and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) were leading the rescue effort on the scene.
Five fire tenders reportedly raced to the scene as soon as word of the event was received, according to rescue authorities.
The NDRF rescue team on site is being led by Inspector-in-Charge Veer Pratap Singh.

Speaking to the news agency ANI, Singh said, “We will soon mount a rescue operation by digging a borewell parallel to the one where the child fell. However, it could be a long-drawn operation.”
