New Delhi: In a recent announcement, Union Minister of State for Personnel, Jitendra Singh, revealed that female government employees as well as single male government employees are entitled to a span of 730 days for child care leave. This leave can be availed under Rule 43-C of the Central Civil Services (Leave) Rules, 1972.
It is applicable to those serving in civil services and roles connected to Union affairs. This provision allows them to care for their two eldest surviving children up to the age of 18 years. Additionally, there is no age limit specified for caring for a differently-abled child.
The information was provided by the minister in a written response to the Lok Sabha.
