Sumalatha Ambareesh to announce her decision on April 3

Bengaluru: Actress and Mandya MP Sumalatha Ambareesh reserved her decision on contesting the upcoming Lok Sabha election from Mandya as an independent candidate or to extend her support to the BJP-JD (S) alliance.
After the high-intensity meeting at her residence in JP Nagar on Saturday with her supporters and fans, The MP announced that she would announce her decision on April 3 in Mandya.
She expressed gratitude to the fans of the late actor Ambareesh for being supportive of her. She said Mandya is not just a political field for her; it is an emotionally attached place, and hence she announced that she would disclose her move on April 3 in Mandya. Following the announcement, some fans who were present in the meeting expressed their anger, according to sources.
Sumalatha Ambareesh, who was confident of getting the BJP ticket to contest the Lok Sabha election, But former Chief Minister and JD (S) leader HD Kumaraswamy is contesting the election from the seat. The BJP has offered this seat to its alliance partner JD (S) as part of a seat-sharing deal.
Sumalatha, who was elected as an independent candidate in the previous election, had extended her support to the BJP a few months ago and was confident of getting the BJP ticket. As part of her effort to secure the party ticket, she lobbied in New Delhi, but ultimately, the BJP offered this seat to Mandya.
