New Delhi: Some people will go to any extent to make their social media reels go viral. A similar case involving a YouTuber attempting to create a viral Instagram reel has landed him in legal trouble.
The Delhi police have arrested a 25-year-old YouTuber and Instagram influencer for allegedly performing stunts with his SUV on a busy flyover in the national capital and setting a Delhi Police barricade on fire in an attempt to create reels for social media.
Pradeep Dhaka, a resident of Chajju Ram Colony in Delhi’s capital, was the arrested individual. Police stated that he was apprehended from his residence. He was issued a fine of Rs. 36,000 for violating various traffic rules by the Paschim Vihar Police, and his vehicle was seized.
Additionally, the police registered a case against him under IPC sections for misbehaving with the police and allegedly attacking the police while on duty.
According to the police, they received a complaint on the social media platform X regarding massive traffic violations by a modified ISUZU HI-Lander 2WD MT car (golden color) on the main flyover outer ring road at Paschim Vihar, resulting in road blockage and heavy traffic congestion.
Another police official mentioned that another video of the same individual surfaced on X, in which he was seen setting a police barricade on fire by applying chemicals to it.
Sources revealed that the car, which was being driven recklessly with an open door, was registered under his mother’s name, and the police also found some plastic weapons. A case has been registered against the accused at Nihal Vihar police station, as the second video where he burnt the barricade was filmed in that area.
Dhaka and his family members were also booked for obstructing public servants in the discharge of their duties, as they resisted the police officers who attempted to arrest him from his house, the police said.
