Dharmendra Pradhan was shown black flags by members of the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) outside the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad campus during protests linked to the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak controversy.

The Union Minister had arrived at IIM Ahmedabad to chair the Coordination Forum meeting of Indian Institutes of Management when protesters gathered outside the campus raising slogans demanding accountability and justice for students.

NSUI demands resignation over NEET controversy

As Pradhan’s convoy exited the campus, NSUI members waved black flags and shouted slogans calling for his resignation over the alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG examination. Some protesters also attempted to block the minister’s vehicle before police intervened and detained several demonstrators.

NSUI leaders accused the Centre of failing to protect the interests of lakhs of medical aspirants affected by the cancellation of the examination. The organisation has also demanded a transparent probe monitored by the judiciary.

NEET cancellation sparks nationwide protests

The National Testing Agency cancelled the NEET-UG 2026 examination held on May 3 after allegations surfaced that leaked “guess papers” matched several questions in the actual exam. The decision affected more than 24 lakh aspirants across India.

The investigation has since been handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation, which has made multiple arrests in connection with the alleged paper leak racket.

The controversy has triggered protests in several cities, with student organisations demanding reforms in the examination system and stricter safeguards against paper leaks.#DharmendraPradhan #NEET2026 #NSUI #StudentProtest #EducationNews #newskarnatak
