
Drunken youth climbs mobile tower, causing panic around
A dramatic scene unfolded in Bhopal’s Barkhedi area on Friday when a 33-year-old man, identified as Vivek Thakur, climbed a mobile tower while heavily intoxicated. Thakur, who hails from the Aishbagh locality, began his climb at approximately 2 pm and continued upwards for nearly 20 minutes, shaking the tower along the way.
As he ascended, a large crowd quickly gathered, alarming bystanders. Concerned citizens alerted the local police and Municipal Corporation about the situation. Emergency teams, including police officers, municipal workers, and SDRF personnel, rushed to the site.
According to ASI Rajendra Yadav from the Jahangirabad police station, the authorities arrived promptly and took charge of the situation. Officers, along with rescue teams, engaged in a conversation with the man to calm him down. Their efforts paid off, and they safely brought Thakur down from the tower around 2:40 pm.
Fortunately, the man escaped without any injuries. He was promptly taken into police custody for further questioning. Investigations are underway, and the police will decide on any future actions based on the results.
