A second-year engineering student at JP University in Raghogarh, Guna, tragically ended his life on Friday morning, under circumstances that have raised serious questions. The deceased, identified as Vaibhav Verma (22), hailed from Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, and was pursuing BE in computer science.

Vaibhav was found lifeless in his hostel room by the warden. A suicide note discovered on his laptop revealed he was battling financial troubles, particularly struggling to repay ₹15,000 borrowed from a friend. The note, addressed to a friend named Anuj, conveyed his deep remorse and mentioned losing ₹20,000 to fraud. His mobile phone was later recovered from the fifth floor of the hostel building.

However, Vaibhav’s mother has cast doubt on the suicide narrative, firmly alleging that her son was murdered. This suspicion has prompted further scrutiny by police, who are examining a ₹25,000 transaction from Vaibhav’s account to trace its recipient and motive.

Interestingly, Vaibhav’s roommate shared that they had studied together until 2 AM the same day. According to him, Vaibhav appeared cheerful, engaging with peers and even discussing weekend meal plans, showing no visible signs of distress.

Raghogarh police have registered a case and are conducting a thorough investigation into the circumstances leading to his death.
