Bringing joy to the residents of Tiruvallur, a heartwarming act of generosity has transformed the Ulundai Government Higher Secondary School. M.K. Ramesh, the panchayat council chief and an alumnus of the school, personally funded the construction of four state-of-the-art smart classrooms—spending Rs 1.2 crores from his own pocket.

The school, which educates around 180 students from villages like Ulundai, Mappedu, Mudhukoor, A N Kandigai, Kilay, Thodugadu, and Namasivayapuram, had long struggled with inadequate infrastructure. Students were crammed into outdated and poorly equipped classrooms, limiting their learning experience.

Moved by their plight and motivated by his personal connection to the school, Ramesh stepped in. The newly built classrooms boast air-conditioning, LED lighting, and smart boards, significantly upgrading the learning atmosphere and aligning it with modern educational standards.

In a further push for safety, 19 CCTV cameras have been installed across the school premises, ensuring a secure environment for students and staff alike.

The official inauguration of the smart classrooms was held under the leadership of the school’s headmaster, P. Krishnan, marking a proud moment for the entire community.

Ramesh’s gesture stands as a powerful example of giving back and prioritizing education at the grassroots level.
