An unusual situation occurred during the Intermediate examinations in Nagarkurnool when an examination centre operated with full staff despite the only registered student not showing up for the test.
The incident took place at the Government Boys Junior College, where a single candidate had registered to write the Vocational Bridge Course examination.
Centre prepared for lone candidate
According to officials, the exam centre had been arranged specifically for the lone student scheduled to take the test.
However, when the examination began on Saturday, the candidate did not arrive at the centre.
Despite the absence, the centre continued to function according to examination protocols.
Officials remained on duty throughout exam
Five staff members remained present during the scheduled examination time. These included the Chief Superintendent, Departmental Officer, and an invigilator assigned to oversee the exam.
In addition, personnel from the Health Department and Police Department were also present, as such arrangements are mandatory during public examinations.
Authorities explained that all examination centres must follow standard procedures regardless of the number of candidates registered.
Incident draws attention online
Typically, hundreds of students appear for examinations at a single centre. However, after the main Intermediate exams conclude, the number of candidates for Vocational Bridge Course examinations is often significantly smaller.
In this particular case, the entire examination arrangement was made for a single student, but the candidate’s absence meant the exam could not be conducted.
The unusual situation soon caught the attention of social media users, with many expressing surprise at the full examination setup being maintained for just one student who ultimately did not attend.
