Panchkula: A family in Panchkula was allegedly cheated of Rs 5 lakh after fraudsters promised a cure for cancer and claimed that a doctor would visit their home for treatment.

According to the complaint, the accused allegedly assured the family that a doctor would visit their residence on June 25 and provide treatment for the cancer patient.
At around 9 am that day, two men reportedly arrived at the house. They allegedly presented themselves as representatives connected with the promised treatment and proceeded with the purported medical intervention.
The family, believing the assurances, reportedly paid around Rs 5 lakh in the hope of getting treatment for their loved one.
False promises leave family cheated
The incident has once again highlighted the vulnerability of families searching desperately for treatment when dealing with serious illnesses such as cancer.
