A man from Chekkiad, a town in North Kerala, has been booked by the police after a video showing his 13-year-old son driving an Innova car through a public road went viral on social media. The video, which was initially uploaded in October last year, surfaced recently on a portal created by the Kerala police, prompting authorities to take action.

In the viral reel, the minor boy is seen driving the car near his house, a clear violation of traffic rules. The police identified the boy’s father, Naushad, 37, as the person who allegedly allowed his son to operate the vehicle. A police officer confirmed that the case was registered this week based on the visuals, noting that the incident posed a significant safety risk.

The father has been charged under section BNS 125 for endangering the life or personal safety of others, as well as various sections of the Motor Vehicle Act. The police also revealed that this wasn’t Naushad’s first time being in the spotlight for unsafe behavior. Earlier, he was accused of allowing his son to ride on top of the car, an act that also went viral. However, no action was taken at the time since the incident occurred within the confines of his property, not on a public road.

This case highlights ongoing concerns over child safety and responsible parenting, as well as the need for stricter enforcement of traffic laws.
