According to viral CCTV footage, as Velayutharaj was on Vannarapettai Road, two cows fighting on the road were inadvertently struck by a Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) bus bound for Kumuli and tragically killed. The footage of this accident spread widely on social media.

In response, the city corporation swiftly mobilized workers to capture stray cattle found roaming the streets. The operation, initiated on Sunday morning, concluded by afternoon with 47 animals apprehended. Owners of these cattle will face fines.
The city corporation issued a stern warning to all cattle owners to securely confine their animals in sheds. Failure to do so will result in the capture of roaming cattle, with fines imposed on their owners as per regulations.
