Chennai: Stock market trader and financial educator P.R. Sundar has been booked by the Ice House Police in Chennai following allegations of sexual harassment, wrongful confinement and criminal intimidation made by a woman news anchor employed with a private television channel. Police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) under multiple provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), while the accused has denied all allegations and termed the complaint false.
The case is currently under investigation, and police are examining the allegations made in the complaint.
FIR registered under BNS provisions
According to police, the FIR has been registered under five sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including provisions related to sexual harassment, offences against women and criminal intimidation.
The complaint was filed at the Ice House Police Station in Chennai.
Officials have initiated an investigation to ascertain the facts surrounding the allegations.
Complainant details allegations
According to the complaint, the woman alleged that she had approached P.R. Sundar seeking employment.
She claimed that he later invited her to his residence in Pattinapakkam, where he allegedly behaved inappropriately.
The complainant further alleged that she informed Sundar’s wife about the incident but claimed that no action was taken.
Alleged confinement at office
The woman also alleged that P.R. Sundar later asked her to visit his office on the pretext of apologising for an incident that she said occurred on June 29, 2026.
According to the complaint, she was allegedly confined in a room for nearly three hours during the meeting.
She further alleged that she was subjected to sexual harassment and threatened with serious consequences.
These allegations form part of the FIR currently under investigation by the police.
P.R. Sundar denies allegations
P.R. Sundar has denied all the allegations made against him.
In a post on social media platform X, he described the complaint as completely false and alleged that it had been filed with the intention of damaging his reputation.
He maintained that the accusations were baseless and said he would cooperate with the legal process.

Police said the investigation is in its preliminary stage and further action will depend on the evidence gathered during the inquiry.
