An FIR has been filed following a violent clash at a wedding in Lucknow late Monday night, after a group of students allegedly gatecrashed the event. The incident took place at Ramadhin Marriage Lawn in Hasanganj, where the students reportedly attended for free food. When questioned, they allegedly resorted to stone pelting and throwing crude bombs, injuring several guests.

Videos circulating on social media show the group causing damage to the venue and engaging in violent behavior. Relatives of the bride and groom claimed that the students misbehaved with women and injured about 20 guests. Despite food arrangements being made for 3,000 people, none of the guests were able to eat due to the chaos.

According to the police, the students, residents of a Lucknow University hostel, initially left after the altercation but returned in larger numbers to escalate the situation. The police intervened, bringing the situation under control. Five of the injured were reported to be seriously hurt.

The bride’s father, Rinku Sonkar, expressed his disappointment, saying the students, influenced by alcohol, ruined the wedding and caused harm to the guests. Similarly, the groom’s father, Manoj Sonkar, stated that uninvited youths even joined the wedding procession and created further disturbances.

The students, on the other hand, have protested their detention, claiming the bride’s and groom’s relatives and wedding guests were the aggressors, which escalated the situation. The police are investigating the matter under relevant sections of the law.
