In two separate rescues on Tuesday evening at Candolim and Benaulim beaches, five Russian women were saved from drowning, according to the lifeguarding agency Drishti Marine.
The agency’s spokesperson explained that the first rescue took place at Candolim Beach, located in North Goa. Three women, aged between 30 and 40, found themselves caught in a rip current while swimming together. A vigilant lifeguard noticed their distress and quickly came to their aid. With the help of a rescue board, the lifeguard brought all three women back to shore safely.
Meanwhile, at Benaulim Beach, two other Russian women, aged 51 and 52, were pulled further into the sea by a powerful rip current. One woman was rescued using a rescue tube, while the other was brought back safely with a jetski. Lifesavers from Drishti Marine worked together efficiently to secure both victims.
Drishti Marine emphasizes the importance of caution and responsibility when enjoying the water during the tourist season. The agency urges beachgoers to follow safety instructions from lifeguards and stay aware of potential dangers in the water.
