Four Killed, 18 Hurt as Two Trucks Collide on Peripheral Expressway

Ghaziabad: In an accident near Muradnagar, four individuals lost their lives, and eighteen sustained injuries when a truck they were traveling in was struck by another truck from behind. This incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, according to a police officer.

Additional DCP Traffic, Ghaziabad, Veerendra Kumar, reported that the collision happened around 1:15 am on the Peripheral Expressway within the Muradnagar Police Station jurisdiction.

The victims were aboard an Eicher Canter mini-truck, transporting brick kiln workers from Sonipat in Haryana to Hardoi. According to Kumar, some passengers had disembarked to relieve themselves when another truck collided with the canter, hitting it on the side and causing it to overturn.

As a result, four people were killed, and eighteen others were injured out of the 35 passengers in the canter. The deceased have been identified as Mayadevi (45), Irshad (30), Najuman (60), and Shamina (20), all from Hardoi district.

The injured were initially taken to the nearest community health center and later referred to the Ghaziabad district hospital. Additionally, nine of the injured were transferred to GTB Hospital in Delhi for further treatment, Kumar stated.
